Acquistion Adds Established East Coast Location and Consulting Capabilities

ProKarma, Inc today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Allerton Associates, a New Jersey based information technology consulting firm. With this acquisition, ProKarma now has offices in 9 major metropolitan markets in the United States and two offshore BPO, QA/testing and development centers in India. ProKarma now has over 400 employees.

 ProKarma Awarded SAS 70 Type 1 Certification

ProKarma announced today that it has successfully completed a SAS 70 (Statement of Auditing Standards No. 70) Type 1 audit of its Utility Management Services provided on a BPO basis. The audit examined ProKarma’s controls as they relate to information technology and other related processes.

For this audit‚ ProKarma retained the services of independent global auditing firm Grant Thornton. The auditors tested the operating effectiveness of internal controls for the ProKarma Utility Invoice Management Process (ProUtility) including‚ but not limited to‚ data collection‚ data verification‚ data security‚ network security‚ and data transmission.

Anand Ijju‚ Director of the ProKarma BPO Division‚ expressed his satisfaction with the successful completion of the SAS 70 audit. “Our ongoing commitment to quality and drive to continuously improve our processes define us as an organization”‚ he said.

SAS 70 is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to report on a third-party service provider’s operational controls and their effectiveness. Clients often request SAS 70 audits as proof of compliance with Sarbanes–Oxley standards and requirements. This certification marks ProKarma’s ongoing commitment to providing clients with the most accurate and reliable data possible.
